Ragnar Hayn’s work is based on, and inspired by instruments made by 17th and 18th century Italian masters.
Taking models from this epoch as his starting point, he creates both faithful copies, which are accurate in every detail, and modern instruments.
Model Domenico Montagnana, 1740
Body length: 750mm
Domenico Montagnana (Lendinara, 1686-Venice, 1750) is, with Matteo Goffriller and Pietro Guarneri, one of the most eminent violin-makers, who had a strong influence on the standard of Venetian violin-making.
Like Goffriller, he is extremely well-known for his cellos, which are favoured by soloists.
