Ragnar Hayn’s work is based on, and inspired by instruments made by 17th and 18th century Italian masters.

Taking models from this epoch as his starting point, he creates both faithful copies, which are accurate in every detail, and modern instruments.

„golden period“

Antonius Stradivai (Cremona, 1644-1737) is probably the most famous violin-maker of his time. He was apprenticed to Nicolo Amati.

His violins are based on models by Amati, but their construction is more robust. He experimented with the so-called „long-pattern“ model. 1699 heralded the „Golden Period“ of his creative work, as he found his ideal model in the „Lady Tenant“.

These instruments are particularly well-known for their warm, versatile tone.
