Ragnar Hayn’s work is based on, and inspired by instruments made by 17th and 18th century Italian masters.
Taking models from this epoch as his starting point, he creates both faithful copies, which are accurate in every detail, and modern instruments.

Andrea Guarneri (Casalbuttano, 1623 - Cremona, 1698) is the connecting link between the Amati and Guarneri dynasties.
After training under Amati, he later set up his own business and passed on his craft to his sons. He adopted the Amati style, but was more liberal and less precise. The „Conte Vitale“ is one of eight violas made by him which still survive today, and is considered one of the best in existence.
